About León Gallery

León Gallery first opened its doors in 2010, quickly gaining a reputation for specializing in museum-quality and historically important Philippine Art. It is also a purveyor of meticulously selected Philippine antiques, dating from the Pre-Spanish period to the 19th Century. Antique furniture, Hispano-Filipino ivory, ceramic and porcelain, carpets and jewelry constitute the gallery’s special heirloom and estate pieces. At its onset, León Gallery’s core of expertise were works of the Filipino Old Masters, such as Juan Luna y Novicio, Félix Resurrección Hidalgo y Padilla, Lorenzo Guerrero y Leogardo Fabian de la Rosa y Cueto and Fernando Amorsolo y Cueto. The Gallery next went on to widen its field with the works of the Carlos “Botong” V. Francisco and Victorio C. Edades; Filipino Mid-Century Moderns, including Fernando Zóbel de Ayala y Montojo and Anita Magsaysay-Ho; the influential Neo-Realists, Hernando R. Ocampo, Cesar Legaspi, Vicente Manansala, and Arturo Luz; the roster of the legendary Philippine Art Gallery (PAG) which also included Ang Kiukok, Romeo Tabuena, Nena Saguil, Victor Oteyza, and Ramon Estella; as well as other masters such as Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Malang Santos, Romulo Olazo, Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera, Danilo Dalena and Roberto Chabet. It has also led way in the field of contemporary names such as Mark Justiniani and Elmer Borlongan, to name a few.
