About THE CRUCIBLE GALLERY

The Crucible Gallery is committed to safeguarding the stature of masters and championing the vision of artists at the forefront of the art scene.  Before the Crucible Gallery was established, founders Sari Ortiga, Randall Young, and Richard Dee only dreamed up a publishing house. The three businessmen had the vision to put Philippine art on the world stage. They started with publishing ‘Art Philippines’ in 1992—an idea birthed by Jeanne Javelosa which became a seminal piece of literature in Philippine art. The book was exhibited at the Singapore Museum and granted a Philippine National Book Award. In the ‘90s, they established a roadshow of mid-century Philippine masters and brought their work to the Philippine Center in New York. They opened the Crucible Gallery in 1993, and pride themselves in having worked with masters like Cesar Legaspi, Malang, Romulo Olazo, Bencab, Ang Kiukok, Anita Magsaysay-Ho and Arturo Luz. They have collaborated with museums like Metropolitan Museum of Manila, the CCP, and National Museum; and have liaised and provided support to global auction houses Sotheby’s and Christie’s.
