About Village Art Gallery

Forty years ago, Agnes Galvez established Village Art Gallery within the comfy suburban nook of BF Homes, Parañaque City. As the country’s largest residential enclave, BF was home to all manner of potential art goers, from experienced collectors to novices. Yet when consumer trends shifted to more commercial spaces, Galvez chose to remain in the South of the Metro. She moved her gallery to Alabang Town Center, where it has since served the art communities of the South, away from the more mainstream gallery district of Makati. Currently run by Galvez’s daughter, Sam Galvez-Lorenzo, Village Art Gallery continues its mission of supporting artists from different backgrounds. Central to its purpose is nurturing the talent of emerging artists, especially those who have yet to set their foot in the art world, and giving them exposure and direction for their exciting new careers in the arts. Many of these artists have gone on to establish prominent names for themselves. As one of the premiere art galleries of the South, Village Art Gallery promises the best in contemporary art today. It has remained steadfast in its goals of upholding the integrity of its artists and highlighting uniquely Filipino creativity. Since its humble beginnings, the gallery looks forward to further cultivating the talents of artists from the South as well as all around the country.
