About The Crucible Gallery
Founded in 1993 by art connoisseurs Sari Ortiga, Randall Young, and Richard Dee, The Crucible Gallery stands as a distinguished institution committed to preserving the legacy of Philippine masters while advancing the vision of emerging artists. Its origins trace back to the founders’ initial endeavor in art publishing, beginning with the 1992 release of Art Philippines, a seminal volume chronicling four centuries of the nation’s artistic evolution. This was followed by Legaspi: The Making of a National Artist—both works recognized with the Philippine National Book Award.
Building on this foundation, The Crucible Gallery extended its mission from publishing to the exhibition and promotion of fine art, encompassing limited-edition sculptures, prints, and other creative forms. Over the years, it has presented the works of esteemed masters such as Cesar Legaspi, Malang, Romulo Olazo, BenCab, Ang Kiukok, Anita Magsaysay-Ho, and Arturo Luz, while continuously providing a platform for the country’s most promising contemporary artists. Guided by its enduring commitment to excellence, The Crucible Gallery remains at the forefront of the Philippine art scene—bridging tradition and innovation through its unwavering support of artistic expression.
