What Does Fungibility Mean?

Nearly everything but money is non-fungible. Money, pesos, gold, and other commodities are fungible. You can swap a peso for another peso or a gram of gold for a gram of gold. To get a sense of what might constitute a non-fungible asset, just think about most of the stuff you own. The chair you’re sitting in, your phone, your laptop, anything you could go and sell on eBay. All of these fall under the category of non-fungible things.
